Debuting in 2019 as a multi-day event for the entire family filled with live entertainment, lots of food, games, arts & crafting, rides, etc., and culminating with a toy, coat, gift card, & more giveaway.
The Carver Theater home of the Trema Arts Center, successfully held its inaugural Wonderland Christmas Festival for 2019 that benefits our summer performance camp Star is Born. The W.C.F. was held December 13 – 15, 2019. Attendees experienced a fun-filled event centered on the Christmas season that offered live entertainment, shopping, food vendors, toy giveaways, prizes, a children’s play zone, holiday decor displays, and much more. Given the current state of the country, we were unable to hold such an event in 2020. As a result of the ongoing effects of the pandemic, several families are suffering in ways like never before. Knowing this, we decided to forgo the multi day festival and activities and decided to focus on the giveaway portion of the festival with all our efforts on supplying essentials that met the needs of our community on December 20, 2020. Providing toys and electronic devices to our youth, giving coats and other forms of clothing to those in need, as well as supplying some families with gift cards & food for the holidays is our way of doing our part to our most beloved city of New Orleans of whom we serve. For 2021, it is our hopes we are able to return back to our initial format of a full festival of activities for the Christmas season. We are looking for established organizations to partner with us and our efforts to make The Wonderland Christmas Festival a continued success.
